The Thriplow and Heathfield Neighbourhood Plan was made on 17 July 2025.
The Thriplow and Heathfield Neighbourhood Plan as made now forms part of the development plan for South Cambridgeshire. All planning decisions in the area will need to comply with the development plan (that now includes the Neighbourhood Plan), unless material considerations indicate otherwise.

Neighbourhood Area Designated
On 25 August 2017 the Planning Portfolio Holder designated the Thriplow neighbourhood area.
Pre-submission consultation (Regulation 14)
Thriplow and Heathfield Parish Council carried out a consultation on their pre-submission Neighbourhood Plan for their parish. The consultation was from 30 January to 14 March 2023.
Submission public consultation (Regulation 16)
Thriplow and Heathfield Parish Council submitted its Neighbourhood Plan and supporting documents to us on 3 June 2024.
We confirmed that the Neighbourhood Plan complies with all the relevant statutory requirements.
A public consultation on the submission version of the Neighbourhood Plan was carried out between 5 August and 30 September 2024.

Examination (Regulation 17)
The Thriplow and Heathfield Neighbourhood Plan was submitted for examination on 15 October 2024. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination is Andrew Ashcroft.
On 21 October 2024, the examiner sent an Examination Arrangements Note to South Cambridgeshire District Council and Thriplow & Heathfield Parish Council.
On 28 October 2024, the examiner sent a Clarification Note to South Cambridgeshire District Council and Thriplow and Heathfield Parish Council.
Thriplow and Heathfield Parish Council provided a response to the Examiner on 18 December 2024.
The examiner completed his examination, and sent his final Examiner's report to South Cambridgeshire District Council on 17 February 2025.
Referendum Stage
The referendum on the Thriplow and Heathfield Neighbourhood Plan took place on 12 June 2025.
Making the Neighbourhood Plan
Thriplow and Heathfield Neighbourhood Plan was made on 17 July 2025 and now forms part of the development plan for South Cambridgeshire. All planning decision in that area will need to be made in accordance with the development plan (that now includes the Neighbourhood Plan), unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
