This SPD was adopted to provide guidance to support Development Plan Documents that have now been replaced by the South Cambridgeshire Local Plan 2018. This document is still a material consideration when making planning decisions in line with having regard to consistency with national planning guidance and the adopted South Cambridgeshire Local Plan 2018.
The Open Space in New Developments SPD gives more information on standards for children's play space, outdoor sport, and informal open space for new developments. It also provides clear guidance on how to calculate the requirements of individual developments.
The SPD produced does not cover community buildings, and these will be addressed separately in the Planning Obligations SPD.
Adoption of the Open Space in New Developments SPD
The Open Space in New Developments SPD was adopted on 15 January 2009.
